2019 Wiyot Language Calendar
2019 calendars are here!
Tearaway "word-a-day" calendars with one Wiyot word or phrase each day:
- Paper tearaway calendars were provided to youth participating in Tsek Houdaqh, and to tribal offices.
- You can use your phone’s camera or any QR code scanning app (such as "Q" for Android) to scan the codes on the paper calendars. This will take you to a web page for that week’s content, where you can hear each word spoken by a Wiyot speaker (Della Prince, Nettie Rossig, and/or Weaver Denman).
- Unless otherwise noted, all audio is excerpted from the word & sentence lists recorded by William Bright, Karl Teeter, and Stuart Fletcher which are housed at the California Language Archive at the University of Berkeley.
- You can download printable PDF copies of the calendar pages to use at home; a link is provided on each week’s vocabulary page.
