[ARCHIVED] Call For Artists! Paid Opportunity

Process and submission description

The Wiyot Tribe is seeking Mural Artists and Youth Designers committed to holistic health and community healing, and wish to inspire positive change through who they are and the work they create to apply for the Jaroujiji’ Youth Mural Project! The Wiyot Tribe is conducting participatory community engagement through the lenses of art. The Mural Artist will be asked to work with youth to develop a design that reflects the interconnection between housing, a healthy community, culture, and the environment. Based on the design meetings the Artists and Youth Designers will be asked to paint a mural at one of the Jaroujiji’ Youth Housing Project sites in downtown Eureka!

The Jaroujiji’ Youth Housing Project is a 40-unit housing project supporting homeless youth and youth at risk of homelessness in Humboldt County. Each unit will have wrap around services meant to provide mental & physical health support, community building, and education for our youth. This mural is an engagement opportunity for our youth to contribute meaningfully to the housing built for their peers in a creative and mindful way.
